Our client is a Jakarta-based training institution (LPK – Lembaga Pelatihan Kerja) that operates as a Sending Organization (SO) under the Japan–Indonesia trainee and worker placement system. Established to provide Japanese language and vocational training, the institution prepares Indonesian candidates to work and train in Japan through structured educational and cultural programs.

As a Sending Organization, the institution is responsible for recruiting and training candidates, ensuring compliance with labor and trainee regulations, and coordinating with Japanese partners such as accepting organizations and companies. The focus is on equipping trainees with the linguistic, cultural, and technical skills needed to succeed in Japan, while maintaining compliance with Indonesia–Japan requirements.

With strong partnerships and a commitment to operational excellence, the institution plays a vital role in strengthening global workforce collaboration and enabling Indonesian talents to pursue professional opportunities in Japan.

Job Role:

The Teacher (Japanese Language & Cultural Training) will be responsible for delivering high-quality Japanese language and cultural education to trainees preparing to work and train in Japan through the organization’s sending program. This role plays a key part in ensuring trainees are well-prepared linguistically, behaviorally, and culturally to adapt to Japanese working environments.

The teacher will develop lesson plans, conduct classroom instruction, and assess trainee progress while maintaining alignment with the institution’s training standards and Japan–Indonesia Sending Organization requirements.

Senior-level teachers are additionally expected to mentor junior instructors, support curriculum improvement, and assist management in coordinating academic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction & Curriculum Delivery
    • Teach Japanese language classes (grammar, conversation, kanji, listening comprehension) following the established curriculum.
    • Deliver cultural and behavioral orientation programs to prepare trainees for life and work in Japan.
    • Assess trainee progress through tests, speaking evaluations, and periodic performance reviews.
  • Curriculum Development & Quality Assurance
    • Contribute to lesson planning, teaching material development, and improvement of instructional methods.
    • Ensure lessons comply with Japanese language standards and the Japan–Indonesia Sending Organization framework.
    • Support the academic team in enhancing training modules and evaluation systems.
  • Student Guidance & Support
    • Provide personalized coaching to trainees to improve their communication, discipline, and cultural understanding.
    • Support trainees in JLPT preparation (N5–N3 levels).
    • Guide trainees in adapting to Japanese etiquette and professional expectations.
  • Coordination & Reporting
    • Collaborate with administrative and operational teams to align teaching schedules with training programs.
    • Maintain accurate student attendance, progress records, and performance reports.
    • Coordinate with Japanese partners or training representatives when required.
  • Leadership (Senior Teacher only)
    • Mentor junior teachers, review teaching performance, and provide training support.
    • Lead curriculum review meetings and contribute to teacher development initiatives.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Nationality & Work Eligibility:
    • Open to Japanese nationals currently residing in Indonesia, particularly around the Greater Jakarta area.
    • For Japanese nationals, KITAS or KITAP sponsorship will be supported by the organization.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Japanese Language Education, Japanese Studies, or related fields. Open to non-linguistics bachelor holders.
  • Certification:
    • JLPT N2 (minimum) or JLPT N1 (preferred).
    • Teaching certification in Japanese language education is an advantage.
  • Experience:
    • Mid-Level Teacher: Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in Japanese language or vocational training institutions.
    • Senior Teacher: Minimum 7 years of teaching experience, including curriculum design and instructor supervision.
    • Prior experience working in or with a Sending Organization (LPK) or Japanese cultural/language institution.
  • Language:
    • Excellent proficiency in Japanese (speaking, reading, writing).
    • Adequate English communication skills.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Passionate about teaching and cultural exchange.
    • Patient, disciplined, and able to motivate trainees.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentoring skills.
    • For senior level: capable of leading academic initiatives and mentoring fellow instructors.
