Our client is a collaboration formed to build Indonesia’s first large-scale electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing ecosystem and by combining the world-leading lithium-ion technology with Indonesia’s rich mineral resources and industrial capability.
Currently in its development phase, the JV employs around 70 team members, while the new factory is being completed, scheduled for full operation in January 2026. This position will be part of the pioneering local team, reporting to an expatriate mentor from China who will transfer operational knowledge as part of the company’s long-term localization strategy.
Job Role:
The Senior Process Engineer plays a key role in managing and improving the mass production processes within the battery manufacturing line. This includes ensuring production efficiency, resolving abnormalities, and leading the introduction of new products and process enhancements across multiple stages, from coating and winding to assembly and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and lead production optimization and new project introduction on base production lines.
- Analyze and resolve abnormalities in mass production processes (coating, pressing, winding, assembly, testing).
- Oversee manufacturability verification for new materials, cables, equipment, and process changes.
- Maintain process documentation and support system updates related to manufacturing operations.
- Lead continuous improvement projects and implement best practices across production lines.
- Participate in customer audits to ensure compliance and satisfaction.
Candidate Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Materials, or related Engineering fields.
- Experience:
- Minimum 8 years in large-scale electronics or lithium battery manufacturing.
- Experience managing mass production lines and process improvement projects.
- Language: Proficient in English on business level.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Minitab, and JMP.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, DOE, MSA, SPC, FMEA, and 8D methods.
- Professional Skills: Detail-oriented, data-driven, and proactive in continuous process optimization.
