Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Legal Associate to join our dynamic team. This full-time, in-office role is an excellent opportunity for recent LLB graduates to gain hands-on experience in Australian legal and migration matters. Once selected, you will be an offered a paid internship for one-month followed by a one-year contract based on your performance.

As a Graduate Legal Associate, you will work closely with senior team members, assisting with client servicing, preparing visa applications, and supporting various aspects of the Australian migration process. Your responsibilities will include answering client inquiries, setting up and attending consultations, preparing documentation, and ensuring the accuracy of applications to help clients achieve their migration goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior lawyers in drafting legal documents, research, and preparing case files.
  • Conduct legal research on migration law and relevant updates.
  • Communicate with clients and assist in managing client queries.
  • Prepare visa applications and other submissions to the Department of Home Affairs.
  • Participate in client meetings and consultations to gain exposure to client interactions.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and follow up on visa processing matters.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of an LLB qualification completed in Sri Lanka.
  • Preferably 6 months of legal experience (internships included).
  • Strong interest in Australian migration law.
  • Excellent research and legal drafting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
