Job Description Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Rule Engine Setup Manager to lead the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of our credit risk rule engine for Loan Against Property (LAP) products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of credit risk principles, LAP product specifics and experience in setting up and managing rule engines within digital lending platforms. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, risk management knowledge, and project management skills to ensure the accurate and efficient automation of our credit risk decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

Rule Engine Implementation & Configuration:

• Lead the setup and configuration of the credit risk rule engine for LAP products, ensuring alignment with credit policies and regulatory requirements.

• Translate complex credit risk policies and business logic into executable rules within the rule engine platform.

• Collaborate with product managers, risk managers, and technology teams to define and document rule specifications.

Risk Policy Translation:

• Interpret and translate credit risk policies and procedures into rule engine logic.

• Ensure that the rule engine accurately reflects the company & risk appetite and lending strategies.

• Conduct thorough testing and validation of rule engine configurations to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Data Integration & Management:

• Work with data engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of data sources with the rule engine.

• Define and manage data mapping and transformation processes.

• Ensure data quality and integrity for rule engine operations.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for rule engine configurations.

• Identify and resolve defects and issues in rule engine implementations.

• Ensure the rule engine & performance, accuracy, and reliability.

Monitoring & Maintenance:

• Monitor rule engine performance and identify areas for optimization.

• Maintain and update rule engine configurations as needed to reflect changes in policies or regulations.

• Troubleshoot and resolve rule engine issues in a timely manner.

Compliance & Audit:

• Ensure that the rule engine complies with all applicable regulatory requirements and internal policies.

• Maintain proper documentation of rule engine configurations and changes.

• Support internal and external audits related to rule engine operations.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful rule engine implementation and operations.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders on rule engine status and issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor and / or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in credit risk management, particularly in the LAP sector.

• 5+ years of experience in setting up and managing rule engines or business rules management systems (BRMS).

• Strong understanding of credit risk principles, property valuation, and legal due diligence.

• Experience with digital lending platforms and automated decision-making systems.

• Familiarity with RBI regulations and compliance requirements.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

• Experience with API integrations, and data mapping.

Additional Information:

• Experience: 7+ years of experience in credit risk management, particularly in the LAP sector.

• 5+ years of experience in setting up and managing rule engines or business rules management systems (BRMS)
