Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client websites across WordPress, Shopify, and headless stacks (Astro, Next.js, Strapi).
• Develop custom Shopify themes and sections, avoiding unnecessary third-party apps.
• Deliver headless builds end to end, from content modelling to deployment.
• Diagnose and fix underperforming sites: speed, Core Web Vitals, responsive issues.
• Implement high-craft UI from design files, including animation and interaction detail.
• Integrate marketing tools, APIs, and third-party services.
• Use AI-assisted development tooling as part of the standard workflow.
• Work with design, content, and project teams; review code and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• 4+ years building production websites.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript, excellent HTML and CSS, working PHP for WordPress customization.
• Shipped work in at least two of: custom WordPress themes (beyond page builders), Shopify Liquid, Astro or Next.js.
• Performance optimization work with measurable, verifiable results.
• A portfolio demonstrating UI craft and attention to detail.
• Comfortable with Git and modern build tooling.
• Able to run with a brief independently and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
